The Scotsman reports that a decision to fund alternative arts projects, including dancers wearing wellies, is not universally popular.
The season of dance in the Scottish Highlands, staged on water in spectacular loch landscapes, yesterday won a £475,000 grant from arts funders.
The project, one of 11 that shared £3 million of Scottish Arts Council funding, will include such performances as dancers wading on submerged stages on beaches in their wellies along with routines of choreographed canoes and jet skis. It all sounds very intriguing.
Whilst wellies are very practical items of footwear I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a dance troupe wearing them before!
